Josh Sanchez is a freelance low brass musician and music educator, born and raised in West Covina, CA. Upon graduating from West Covina High School in 2014, Josh studied at Riverside City College and Fullerton College. During his time in college, Josh has participated in 2 years with the RCC Marching Tigers(2014-2015), studied voice under LaVista Benson and Rebecca Tomlinson, studied trombone under Steve Suminski, and studied tuba under Fred Greene, Dr. Anthony Mazzaferro, and Gabriel Sears. Additional brass instruction was received by Chad Willis, Devon Taylor, and John Van Houten. In addition to playing in traditional school ensembles, Josh has performed in the 2017 CSUF Community College Intercollegiate Band, participated in tuba masterclasses at Azusa Pacific University, competed in two seasons of the Winter Guard International-Winds Independent World division with Orange County Independent Winds(2015-2016) on euphonium, and competed in three seasons of the Drum Corps International-World Class division with the Oregon Crusaders(2016-2018) on tuba/contrabass bugle. Josh has also taught at several high school marching bands in the Southern California area since 2015 including Norte Vista High School, Vista Del Lago High School, San Dimas High School, Woodbridge High School, Loara High School, Nogales High School, Independent Programs like The Royal Cavaliers Performing Arts, and private lessons in the Orange County and Inland Empire areas. Josh currently teaches at Arroyo High School, Cypress High School and teaches private lessons at Music and Arts - Mission Viejo, in addition to teaching Josh also performs with Banda Fantasma and The Southland Wind Ensemble.
