Liam Bryant, Assistant Band Director at Ruben S. Ayala High School, earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Upright Bass Performance from the University of California, Riverside, his Master of Music degree in Music Education from Berklee College of Music, and his Master of Education in Inspired Teaching Practices from National University.
Before joining the Ayala High School staff, Mr. Bryant worked as a low brass instructor and upright bass instructor at Los Osos High School and Townsend Junior High School. In these roles, he supported students through sectionals, ensemble coaching, and individualized instruction in both classroom and after-school settings. He has also worked as a substitute teacher in Chino Valley Unified School District and previously served as an orchestra and general music teacher at Marshall Simonds Middle School in Burlington, Massachusetts.
As both an educator and performer, Mr. Bryant brings experience in band, orchestra, jazz, chamber music, and marching arts settings. His work as an upright bassist and low brass doubler has shaped his approach to teaching students across a wide range of instruments, skill levels, and ensemble environments. He is especially passionate about helping students develop musical independence, confidence, leadership, and a strong sense of responsibility to the ensemble.
Mr. Bryant is honored to join the Ruben S. Ayala High School Band and Color Guard staff. He looks forward to supporting the students, staff, and families of the program while contributing to Ayala’s long-standing tradition of excellence.
